Lighting SystemsLighting systems consist of individual components that work together to form series of lights tied to cables, rails or multi canopies. Most lighting systems are low voltage powered utilizing transformers and coax cables. This combination enables the formation of small and sleek components of primarily modern lighting designs. Lighting systems often use colorful glass such as Murano Glass made in the island of Murano, Italy and glass made in numerous other countries including the United States. Lighting systems are in both in commercial and residential settings. In offices and restaurants, rail and cable systems comprising of many components are integrated to form a series of task and decorative lighting fixtures. At home, lighting systems are often used in kitchen settings to bring a sense of color and functional lighting.
Lighting systems have been in the past limited to metallic finishes such as chrome and satin nickel. For this reason lighting systems have been usually installed in contemporary lighting settings. Recently darker finishes such as oiled rubbed bronze and black finishes have been introduced in the marketplace, making these fixtures more applicable to traditional design settings. |
